Custom Orders Info

How does it work?
A custom knit is an order made specifically for you, to your requirements with your ideas, or a replica of a design you've seen from me before. I open my Deposit Slots regularly throughout the year, if they are available they'll be in stock on my Shop.
Following your slot deposit purchase, we will have a conservation to discuss your design and sizing/colour preferences. Please look for a knit you'd like me to work on as you know better than I do what you like, if you can't find anything suitable however, I can help. I do prefer to work with good condition preloved knits where possible to keep the costs down for you and as an aim to be more sustainable so I'd encourage you to have a nosy on Vinted BUT if you prefer a new shop bought knit that's absolutely fine! If you send me the link to the item you want I will order it directly to me whether it's Vinted or shop bought, or you can order it and post it to me. The price of your chosen knit will be added to the total price if I order it for you.
Once we have discussed your requirements and we have an agreed total price, I will get to work and create your item. When your knit is ready, I will send you some photos, upload it to my website and send you the link to purchase it for the amount remaining (there is also a flat rate for postage of £2.50). From there it will be packaged and posted to you via Evri.
Pricing:
I am introducing a new pricing structure for custom slots. This is to allow you to have a clearer view of pricing before you book a slot, and the prices are reflective of the amount of time, materials and skill required to create your design. The £10 you pay for your deposit will be deducted from the total price.
All orders will include a consultation to discuss your design and confirm your total price, I am happy to have this conversation before you book a slot. The below categories are a guide only and do not include the price of the knitwear you choose. You can also select a design bracket and give me a theme to work to to your budget.

Name only, no appliques £15
Simple £25-£35
Smaller designs with a word or a few words, and a few design elements or one more detailed appliqué
Standard £35-£45
Larger designs with a few or more than a few words, more appliqués and designs that take more time or are more detailed.
Complex £45-£55
The largest or the most intricate designs, many words or many appliqués, the really detailed designs with lots going on.
Stars and enhancements will be included on all designs where suited.

Other info:
Whilst I am happy to take inspiration from other designs you have seen, I will not knowingly copy a design by another maker as I don't believe that's good practice.
UK only.
Purchase of a deposit is non refundable.
Please note, my turnaround time is currently 3-6 weeks from the date I receive your knitwear, not from the date of deposit purchase. If you have an urgent order, please let me know.
Recommended knitwear for custom items:
Generally plain knits work best without heavy cabling, fibrous yarns (mohair, cashmere) or bulky textures as they don't work very well for crochet applique. For examples, please see my Instagram for knits I've worked on previously.
I have put together a small list of brands I'm aware of that do knitwear in styles suitable for crochet embroidery if you'd rather have a new item. However, you can find real gems on Vinted in great condition if you hunt for them.
I'm not affiliated with any of the below brands in any way :)

Primark £
Asda £
Matalan £
Sainsbury's ££

I would personally avoid Temu, Shein and AliExpress etc due to the quality/sizing being hard to predict and the origin being uncertain, although that's entirely personal choice :)
